Is it possible to give a watch: omens and superstitions

Is it possible to give a watch: omens and superstitions

A broken mirror, a black cat, a woman with an empty bucket, Friday the 13th, donated watches will lead to separation and disease - how many more “bad” signs do you know? Believe it or not? Superstitions can be interpreted in different ways. So it happened historically, before the development of science and technology, the discovery of the laws of physics, people did not know how to correctly interpret this or that phenomenon, and from this they endowed it with magical properties. Many of these signs will be easily destroyed by logic, but others are so firmly rooted in the consciousness of society that they continue to disturb sensitive people. For example, the well-known bad luck is to leave a wallet on the table, which leads to a lack of money. Has the economic crisis of the past years been caused precisely by wallets on the tables, shamelessly left by bankers and financiers? Obviously not. Sometimes superstition contradicts common sense, the usual understanding of things. Such is the man, that if he does not understand or does not want to understand any phenomenon, he considers it magical!

Signs associated with the clock

Since then, when a person came up with the first watch, this outstanding and important discovery has been the subject of various beliefs, rituals and even cults. It is now not even about the full-fledged clockwork, but about its predecessors - the sundial. For our ancient ancestors, this was a certain mystery, magic. Up to the fact that the witches with their help, hours deprived people of life or caused irreparable damage to health, and also caused evil spirits. Later mediums appeared, or as they called themselves, “guides to the world of the dead,” they used watches to communicate with the souls of dead people. Zhutkov something, is not it? All these signs and beliefs are far in the past, however, they have sufficiently tarnished the reputation of hours, so that to this day they have a cautious attitude.

Around that time, various signs and superstitions appear along with new discoveries, and today they are still sitting tightly in the consciousness of society. One of the most common is to give a watch a bad omen. Let's try to figure out what caused this belief. Let's say right away, this belief cannot do anything with the rules of etiquette. Good tone allows you to present a watch as a gift. Next, we turned to religion - the Bible, the Koran, the Torah do not say anything about the gift of the clock. There is no religious connotation in this sign.

But why people are afraid to give a watch? It is believed that such a gesture has several interpretations. The first is that when you present a gift to a person who is dear to you, this will inevitably lead to misunderstandings, quarrels and even termination of relationships. The second reason why it is impossible to give a watch is the belief that in this way you reduce the time allotted in this world to the person you intend to make a gift. For example, you are a guest at a wedding, and as it should be, you have prepared a gift for the newlyweds - a watch. So according to this belief, giving a watch, you want spouses quarrels and scandals. And it is likely that it is because of the hours that they may divorce in the future.

In the modern world, such signs look ridiculous, because they have no logical or other explanation. Apparently, this attitude to the clock, as to something “unclean”, has been preserved since the times when people believed in witches and magic. And it’s time to leave all these beliefs in the past, they keep only on the people's faith, and it is impossible to dissuade people through logic. After all, every sign is deeply in the human mind and is passed on from generation to generation.

Folk omens and superstitions are surprisingly strong, so it is almost impossible to dissuade people in any superstitions. These signs "sit" deep inside the consciousness and are passed on from generation to generation. We do not force you to go against your beliefs if you believe in signs and superstition. It’s not necessary to get a watch as a gift, you can simply buy it. However, in this case you will not avoid the influence of superstitions. So, if a woman buys watches with sharp corners, for example, square or rectangular, then she condemns herself to fulfill the male role, solve problems and have a hard life alone. Women are encouraged to give preference to soft, rounded shapes.

The clock is a wonderful gift, and apparently, the desire to give them to loved ones was so great that a counter-conviction appeared. According to which, if you get a coin or a bill of insignificant denomination in exchange for the watch, the bad omen will automatically cease to operate. After all, such a process can no longer be called a gift in the full sense of the word, the gift is, as it were, redeemed.

Can I give a watch for a wedding?

Since we have already mentioned wedding gifts, we will dot the i in this question. When a father at a son's wedding gives him a grandfather's watch, it is very beautiful and touching. Such a warm family tradition cannot be a bad omen.

Today there are many paired variations of watches. In order to impress the newlyweds and express their respect and reverence to them, you can give a pair of watches. Such models were originally created in a pair, they have the same or minimally different design, and are designed for male and female wrists. We consider this a very romantic and symbolic gift! And yes, in order to be 100% sure, you can take a coin in return.

Other hours as a gift

We decided to go to the end and dig deeper what they think in other countries about the gift in the form of watches. Also fear how about us? And here we are:

1) What does it mean if a man gives a woman a watch:

Declaration that "we are together for every second of the day."

He gives his time to the woman.

2) What does it mean when a woman gives a man a watch as a gift?

The woman declares that “my time is your time. Your time is my time. ”

Whenever you miss your soul mate, just remember that every minute and every second the other person thinks of you.

She is next to you.

3) What does a gift to a friend mean in the form of a watch?

I appreciate the time spent together and hope for a long friendship.

I wish you to feel happy every day.

I will always be there.

4) Hours - as a gift to a colleague, manager, business partner, mean

I appreciate your time.

I wish you success and new achievements.

I deeply respect you.

As you can see, a watch as a gift does not necessarily mean failures, quarrels and health problems. We tend to believe that the gift carries the promise and the energy that we put in it. Engrave with pleasant wishes and your gift is guaranteed to be “charged” with positive emotions. If the person to whom the gift is meant is superstitious, ask for a coin in return.
